38%!

Betsie mowed for an hour and 40 minutes (longer really because she got stuck on a soda can some kid tossed in my yard and I had to restart her) and she then went home on her own!
The display says 38% completed, a new record for the front field!
Given your comment about starting with a smaller yard next time — if you were to do it all over again — would you just experiment with one small yard until you learned how betsie worked, then pull the wire up and make your grand layout? or would you try to get all the yards going at once with one giant perimeter?
It probably doesn’t matter.
What’s most important is to plan a little about where to put the base charging station and which to have as your main area.
I did set the back yard up first originally. And added the front a week or so later.
One advantage of this was I KNEW she should work well when she didn’t get stuck. The back yard looked amazing from the first day.
I think having her run from charging base back to charging base checking the wire all the way around would help find a lot of problem spots right from the start. I was a bit too impatient for that…
My yard is quite uneven, and grows all kinds of random “greenish” things. I’m renting, so I don’t want to spend tons of time/money making it perfect or planting grass or getting rid of old 4x4s that border the driveway, etc.
Our new house, will be mine, and has a more normal (nicer) yard. There’s a curb out front, and a paved driveway. It should be a lot less quirky to get set up.
